Quilting Show 2016

Even if we say so ourselves, this year's quilt show was a resounding success.  It was wonderful to see all the quilts that have been made over the last two years come out of hiding and be displayed to their best.

Over the two days, Saturday was the busiest, with visitors from far afield and there were lots of positive comments about all the exhibits.  Many were very impressed that so small a group (18) could produce so many quilts!

The ladies in the kitchen were kept busy providing cups of coffee and tea, served with one of our delicious cakes.

Some of us took some time to do some quilting which proved interesting to our visitors.  Luckily we were able to answer any questions that were put to us.

We would like to thank The Patchwork Dog and Basket from Lewes for having a stall for both days.  They had a wonderful selection of materials to chose from.
Thank you too, to Debbie Holland and Mandy Shaw for doing a stall on Saturday and Sunday.

I memory of one of our past members, we held a raffle in aid of The Hospice in the Weald.  The group finished off Shirley's last quilt and it became the main prize for the raffle with the permission of her family.

Every visitor was asked to vote for their favourite quilt and the most popular one won its maker a prize. The vote was very close, but Maddie's Star quilt came out on top, closely followed Dawn's very impressive one.  Both were hand pieced - very impressive.

Here are some more quilts that were shown.  There is a video being made with more pictures, so watch this space.

We all had great fun showing off our hard work.  Keep in touch with us through our blog.  See you in two years when our next show will be on!
